Dhangars are very ancient warrior and priest community and preserved their West Eurasian Female lineage specifically "Arabic and Greek female lineage" from ancient times.One of the chief queen of the Emperor Chandragupta Maurya was from Greek origin. If god allows then today also history going to be repeated. Other communities in India have very recent ancestry from paleolithic female lineage i.e.their males took women's from Adiwasi people of the India..

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
