Guhil/Gahlot and Solanki are the two major gotras found in Dhanagrs of Maharashtra.Royal Shepherd Prince Kalbhoj(Bappa Raval) founder of Mewar Dynasty belongs to this clan.Total 70% of Hatkar-Dhangar population in Maharashtra belong to these two gotras.Bappa Raval was the great warrior and diplomat like Subhedar Malharrao Holkar.Gahlot and Thorat gotras have origin from ancient Sun-worshiping Hittite(Hatti) people of ancient Anatolia. Nagar Brahmins and Abhir/Ahir- Kalchurya also have origin from Ancient Hatti and Sumerian peoples. Hatkeshwar-Mahadev is the Kuldaivat of Nagar Brahmins.Ancient Sumerians were Shiva and Mother goddess worshipers .Eklingji and Bhawani are the Family deities(Kuldevata) of Gahlot Rajputs of Mewar.

The  Hatkar  (archaically transliterated as  HattiKara  or  Barhatta  ,  BaraHatti  ) are an  Indian warrior caste , found predominantly in the state of  Maharashtra . The word "hat" means obstinacy in Marathi and "kar" means doer meaning obstinate.  Hatkar  is the subcast of  Dhangar  Community. There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
