List of Arabic Tribrs(अरब जनसमूह)


1. Kedar, (in Arabic قيدر pronounced Qaidar) father of the Qedarites, a northern Arab tribe that controlled the area between the Persian Gulf and the Sinai Peninsula. According to tradition, he is the ancestor of the Quraysh tribe, and thus of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad.
2. Dumah (means Sand-Hill in Arabic دومه Doomah)
3.Marsh Arabs(Maʻdān):Maʻdān समाज दो मुख्य समूहों में विभाजित किया गया था। एक समूह भैंस पालन करता था जबकि अन्य फसलों जैसे चावल, जौ, गेहूँ और बाजरा की खेती करते थे; वो लोग भेड़- बकरी पालन भी करते थे।
Genetic Evidence
A 2011 Study showed that Marsh Arabs(Maʻdān) have a high concentration of Haplogroup J1 for males and Haplogroup J having the highest concentration in females with Haplogroup H,Haplogroup U and Haplogroup T having the highest concentrations.

About 108 clans(108 कुळ/कुल) of Dhangars and 22 sub castes (22 पोट जाती).

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
