Why India is backward in modern world

Why India is backward in modern world compared to not only western countries but also some eastern countries like Japan,China,Singapore,Thailand,Malesia etc.. although having very ancient glorious history??
I thought that most important two reasons are there's thoughts are modern and still we do believe in false history which doesn't have any scientific base.We are still stuck to medieval period(मध्यकालीन भारत).

About 108 clans(108 कुळ/कुल) of Dhangars and 22 sub castes (22 पोट जाती).

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
