यदुवंशी जादौन(पाल/रोम/रोमा) वंश:करौली, राजस्थान




Two brothers Romulus and Remus,the founders of Rom city on palatine hill were saved by a series of miraculous interventions: the river carried them to safety, a she-wolf (in Latin, lupa) found and suckled them, and a woodpecker fed them. A shepherd and his wife found them and fostered them to manhood as simple shepherds.The word Ramoshi must be derived from Remus or vice varsa. Madane surname is found in majority of the Dhangar(Shepherd) and some Ramoshi peoples. Ramoshi is also warrior clan.Jadaun(जादौन) surname is common in both Banjara(Roma) and Rajput peoples.

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
