The Bulgars (also Bolgars, Bulghars, Proto-Bulgarians, Huno-Bulgars) were a semi-nomadic Turkic people who flourished in the Pontic Steppe and the Volga basin in the 7th century AD. Bargal means Horsemen warrior with spear. In the history of Europe also Bulgars were Horsemen with spear.Mother of Srimant Malharrao Holkar belongs to Bargal family of Taloda,Dhule.
Bulgaria the name of the country is derived from Bulgar.A branch of them gave rise to the First Bulgarian Empire.There were several aristocratic families whose members, bearing military titles, formed a governing class.

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
