The Royal Shepherd Prince Kalbhoj (Bappa Raval): Eighth ruler of Suryavasnhi Guhil/Gehlot clan of Hittite (Hatti) and founder of Mewar Dynasty.Bappa Raval has origin from Hatti-Shepherds of Guhil/Gahlot/Mitra/Thorat Gotra.
Bappa Rawal (born Prince Kalbhoj, c. 713-810), eighth ruler of the Guhilot Dynasty and founder of the Mewar Dynasty (r. 734-753) in present-day Rajasthan, India.
Gahlot is the Major clan found in Shepherds of Maharashtra.Almost 50% of population of shepherds of Maharashtra belong to Guhil/Gahlot clan that distinguish there features from others.

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
