These are The Mauryans,Kshahrat/Kharat/Shinde,Barge/Bargal,Gurjar-Pratihar,Sul/Sule/Gurjar-Solanki,Chahman/Chouhan,Guhil/Gehlot,Rathod,Sengar/Lengare,Pal/Palve/Pallav,Kadamb,Yadu/Yadav:Tomar/Thombre.

Total clans are 32 derived from original 12 clans. Hatti,Gurjar,Pal,Saka,Huns,Pal,Pahalav/Pallav/Pahalvan have origin from ancient twelve tribes.  There are 12 tribes of shepherds  too mentioned in history Israel. These are,

1.Sengar(Lengre,Shingade,Dhangar):

ORIGIN:Very ancient clan in India known as Dhangar.This tribe has preserved an ancient Dhangar folk e.g. Gaje Nrutya,Dhangari ovi,Sumbran etc..They have worshiped deities like Biroba,Khandoba,Dhuloba-Bhiwai etc..

LINEAGE/VANSH:Suryavansh.From Saga/Rishi Sengar and Daughter of  King Dasharatha and sister of  lord Rama.

Gotra: Gautama

2.Maurya ((Mori,More,Gurjar-Pratihar,Paramara,Panwar,Wagh,Kachare etc..):Founder of Mauryan Dynasty;

OORIGIN.:Scythian/Saka origin.One of the ruling clan in Iran. Original language was Pharasi.

मौरू (Mouru)region  is mentioned as region in Avesta.

Recently, new light has been thrown on the origin of Chandragupta Maurya. Dr. H.R. Gupta informs that Chandragupta Maurya originally belonged to Koh-e-Mor, 250 km. north of Peshawar commanding the Swat valley beyond the Malkand pass, wherefrom after freeing Panjab from the Greeks, he shifted his parents to Panjab hills, designated his father Sarmor i.e. head of the More tribe and the hill state was later on known as Sarmour after this designation^. Buddhist literature tells us that, after the demise of Lord Buddha, Virudhaka, the king of Kosala, attacked the Buddhists and massacred them, and that many of them fled to the north-western hills to escape his wrath¹⁴¹. However, there is every, possibility that the Mauryas, as they were connected with the Sakyas of Kapilvastu¹⁴², who were from Solar race of Aryans¹⁴³, had followed them to the west¹⁴⁴. It is significant that we find Moryas in Bihar and Mores in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan even today. Grammatically Moriya/Maurya can be easily derived from Mor/More but never from Mura.

3.Kshahrat/Kharat (Parihar,Dhaygude,Tarange,Shinde,Pal,Palve,Pahalvan):Founders of Western Satraps dynasty. Had overthrown Satvahan Dynasty.

Origin:Iran:Kharat/Herat and Khwarezm  regions are mentioned in Avesta.

Culture and Language:

Originally the Kshaharatas (क्षहरात/खरात) perhaps spoke an old Eastern-Iranian language, however under the increasing cultural influences from the Satavahanas gradually their languages were Prakritised. They used Kharoshti and Brahmi scripts for writing. 

VANSH:Suryavansh/Sheshvansh: It makes sense to call them Sheshvanshi (Shinde) because they are the descendant of Lakshamn ji ,brother of Sri Ram ,who is believed to be an Incarnation (Avtar) of Sheshnag.

GOTRA:Now this clan is considerd as Agnivanshi Parihar clan.Gotra is Pundalik.

Notable Kings:Shalivahan/salahan was the most illustrious king of  this clan. He belongs to Sia sub clan.Sia clan of Scythian/Saka origin is also found in Jats. Shalivahan saka was startred after the victory of Shalivan over Chandragupta Vikramaditya of Gupta Dynasty.Gudhipadava is the day of victory of King Shalivahan

A popular belief is that the city was re-founded by Raja Sáliváhan or Sálbán when it became a part of Kashmir under King Sama Dutt. Raja Sáliváhan built a fort (Sialkot Fort)and the city and gave the place its present name

4.Yadav (Yadav,Jadaun,Jadu,Jadav,Jew,Judhav,Madane,Bargal,Hande,Hake etc..)

ORIGIN;Original Homeland is Mathura..Yadavs were called as Jadav in West Asia.

Vansh:Yaduvanshi.Sons of Yadu.Lord Krishna was born to this line.

Gotra:Kaudinya.

Notable Kiings:Chatrapti Shivaji belongs to Saka-Jadauns of Mathura.

5. Sul/Chalukya/Solanki(Gurjar-Solanki/Mane/Sarak/Khatal/Khatana/Shelar/Shelke/Pisal/Lavate).

Origin: Sul/Sule clan have there origin from Kuruvanshi Brahman king Chalukya(Chuluk/Suluk).

City Sialokot in present Punjab of Pakistan was found by King Sul (Shalya) emperor of Madradesha and brother of wife of King Pandu and Mother of Nakul and Sahadev.

Mulraj Solanki was the famous king of Gurjar- Solanki dynasty in present Gujrath belong to Sul clan.

6.Tomar/Turvasu (Thombre):

ORIGIN:Turvasu was the son of king Yayati and younger brother of Yadu.Due to linguistic differences (Language differences ) Turvasu are known as Turk, Tomar and Thombre.

7.Rathod (Holkar,Kokre,Virkar etc..)

ORIGIN:Emerged from Sengar/Dhangar.Royal house from Bikaner,Jodhpur .Afterwards found Holkar dynasty of the Indore.

As per famous writer Mr.R.C.Dhere, Holkars of the Indore belongs to Rathod lineage.

Some of the indiginious Dhangar  tribes like  Rathod,Chandels and Bundels has got rank of Rajput. The Deity of Dhangars is called Khandoba said to be deification (दैवतीकरण) of clan leaders who collected revenue for the kings from there fiefs (locally called  जागीर) afterwords known as Ratta/Rathod.

8. Huns(Chauhan,Chahman,Honmane/Vhanmane,Devkate etc..):

Origin: Huns were  member of a nomadic pastoralist ( चलवासी पशुचारणिक जन ) people, who are known to have lived in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia between the 1st century AD and the 7th century.

हूण एशिया की एक जाति थी जिसने ईसा की चौथी और पाँचवीं शताब्दी में सारे संसार में अपना प्रताप फैलाया था।

GOTRA:Now this clan is Agnivanshi Chauhan clan,Gotra is Vasistha.

Notables:Mihirkula,Tomran -Han  and Prithviraj Chauhan  was the most illustrious ruler of this clan.Mihirkula means suryavanshi.Devkate Sardar of Dhangar clan have played very important role in Maratha History.

9.Kadam(Kale,Dadas,Dombale etc..):

Origin:It is also very ancient clan in India.

10.Kushwah/Kachawaha(Kolekar,Bhagwat,Didwagh,Aglave etc..)

VANSH: Suryavansh.From Kush,the son of Lord Rama.

GOTRA: Mandavya

Notables: Maharaja of Jaipur.

11.Guhil/Gehlot/Gahlot (Thorat,Thengil,Lokhande,Gunjal,Choramale,Chorasmia,Velankar,Barve,KhatkeSisodiya)

ORIGIN:Scythian/Saka origin. Chorasmia was the region in West Eurasia near Caspian Sea.Name Caspian Sea is derived from Kashyapa Sagar.Khattak was ruling clan in central Asia.

VANSH:Suryavansh. Son of Narishyanta (Sanskrit: नरिष्यन्त), was son of Vaivasvata Manu and belongs to solar race of Kshatriyas.

Kashyapa-Surya-Vivasvat Manu—Ikshavaku (One of the son of Manu)----Raghu---Ajapati—Dashratha-Lord Rama.This dynasty is called as Ikshvaku dynasty and afterwards Raghuvanshi.

Meaning of Goat in Sanskrit is Aja.Ajapati means shepherds. Egyapt is derived from Ajapti.

Vivasvat Manu(Sraddhadeva) married Shraddha and bigot  ten childrens including Daughter Ila and Ikshvaku, the progenitors of the Lunar Dynasty and Solar Dynasty respectively.

Notables:Bappa Raval,Maharana Pratap of Mewar Dynasty and Sisodiya dynasty of Udaipur

Turvasu was the one of the son of King Yayati. Son of Turvasu afterwards known as Turk,Tomar and Yavans.

12.Sid (Waghmode,Khandekar,Solankar,Thavre,Sarje,Damdhere etc..)

ORIGIN:Scythian/Saka Origin.

सिथियन जमातींतील सिद या राजघराण्याचे दैवत थागिमासाडस (Thagimasida)  हे असून त्याचे हीरॉडोटसने पॉसेडॉन(Poseidon) या ग्रीक देवतेबरोबर साधर्म्य दर्शविले आहे. त्यांच्या संप्रदायाविषयीची माहिती त्यांच्या राजांच्या थडग्यांवरुन होते. या उत्खनित थडग्यांतून काही धर्मविधिविषयक वस्तू आढळल्या; मात्र उत्खननात त्यांच्या देवतांच्या मूर्ती व मंदिरे आढळली नाहीत.

त्यांच्या और्ध्वदेहिक कर्मकांडाविषयीची माहिती त्यांच्या कबरस्थानातील पुरातत्त्वीय पुराव्यावरुन ज्ञात होते. मेलेल्या माणसाचे शव संलेपन करुन त्याची मिरवणूक काढीत असत व चाळीस दिवसानंतर त्याचे दफन करीत.
