अरट्ट,आरट्टा,रट्ट,आणि महरट्ट हे मुळ सुमेरियन आणि सिंधु संस्कृतितील मेंढपालआणि कोळी लोक.प्राचीन अरट्टा म्हणजे पर्शियाच्या आसपासचा भाग होय.
पाश्चात्य अभ्यासकांच्या मते शिलालेखात उल्लेख असलेला 'शुरूप्पक' प्रदेश म्हणजेच आरट्टा असावा. त्यांच्यात राजाला/देवता 'दुमूझिद मेंढपाळ', 'दुमूझिद कोळी' असे पण उल्लेख आढळतात.
Dumuzid (sometimes transcribed as Dumuzi), called "the Shepherd", from Bad-tibira in Sumer, was, according to the Sumerian King List, the fifth pre dynastic king in the legendary period before the Deluge. The list further states that Dumuzid ruled for 36,000 years.
