Medes/Madane/Kurds were the ancient Indo-Iranian people known as Aryans to the ancient world.Madane are the descendant from Madan one of the son of Prophet Abraham.Medes are the descendant from Japhet------Noah (Manu) >Jyapeti (Japhet or Yayati)>Javan(Son of Japhet)> Yavan (Greeks) ......Kurd /Coorg/ Kodava/Hatti/Hittite/Sumerians/Harappans are the Dravidian Ahirs. Yadu(Son of the Yayati) was fostered by Kurd/Ahirs. Kurd call themselves descendant from ancient Medes(Son of the Yayati).Krishna was also Ahir.Kurd,Hatti and Gurjars are the Sun worshiping tribes from ancient times.In Maharashtra Khurd are considered as little siblings of Madane.Khurd is the Iranian word means smaller. likewise two neighbouring villages "Khurd and Budruk((Hindi:Khurd and Kala)",Khurd means smaller village and Budruk means bigger village of the same name.

There are total 108 exogamous groups (clans) of Dhangars found all over India.These clans found Three and half main sub divisions due to division of labour among brothers of one family(एक ही परिवार के सदस्यो में काम का विभाजन हो गया).These are Shepherds(Hatti/Hatkar,Pal,Kuru/Kuruba,Gadariya etc..),Cow herders/Ahir (Yadu and Gawali) or Buffalo keepers(Mahaskar/Gurjar/Gujjar) and wool and blanket weavers (Khutekar,Sangar and Shegar).The half division is butchers(Khatik).All sub sects fall in either of these division.The number three and half is not random selection but has a religious and cosmological significance.
